Culture & Heritage

“While tea has its more general consumption in India, coffee also has a very special place, mainly in the south. Its cultivation in India dates back for centuries and the Baba Budan Hills in Karnataka has a significant history in coffee growing.

A confluence of both tradition and modernity exists, Indian coffee culture blends aspects of old and the newer. This is even characteristic of various parts in southern India; in specific: Karnataka and Kerala coffee gets many times drunk as filter, a robust, tar darkish brew. It can even be described as ‘cutting off’ on families and their friends circles by sharing them.

More recently, there has been the modernization of coffee culture from West where modern coffee shops, and cafes have emerged featuring numerous coffee drinks.”
